Lagos, Nigeria - July 15, 2024 - CIG Motors Company Limited has partnered with the Lagos State Government and Ibile Holdings to launch a groundbreaking joint venture to revolutionise e-mobility in Lagos. This historic agreement promises to introduce 1,000 electric vehicles (EVs), significantly reducing greenhouse gas emissions and positioning Lagos as a leader in green transportation while creating jobs and enhancing infrastructure.

Tobi Lawal, Managing Director of Ibile Holdings, highlighted the environmental and economic benefits of this partnership. "Together with CIG Motors, we are committed to building a brighter and more connected future for all Lagos residents," he stated.

Oluwaseun Osiyemi, Honourable Commissioner for Transportation, Lagos State, emphasized the goal of creating an integrated, accessible, safe, reliable, cost-effective, comfortable, and ecologically friendly transport system. This initiative aims to improve network connectivity and serve as a model for other states.

Building on past successes, including the SKD Vehicle Assembly Plant and the Lagride Smart Taxi Scheme, this new initiative will introduce sophisticated e-mobility infrastructure with four key components:

CIG Motors' commitment to sustainability is clear as Lagos transitions from fossil fuels to EVs. Chief Diana Chen highlighted benefits such as reduced CO2 emissions, cleaner air, and quieter streets.
